IEC 62443-2-4 Certification
Cybersecurity for industrial system integrators
How important is the IEC 62443-2-4 certification?
The IEC 62443-2-4 certification obtained by TI Safe on May 31, 2022 is granted by the German company TÜV SÜD, a world reference in certifications. The certification is based on the standard that brings specific requirements for integrators working with industrial cybersecurity.
With the certification, TI Safe demonstrates that all the processes of the ICS.SecurityFramework® methodology are in accordance with the basic guidelines of the standard that is a reference for the implementation of projects, management and monitoring of industrial networks.
How was the process that led TI Safe to be certified by TÜV SÜD?
For 2 years TI Safe was audited by TÜV SÜD. The verification work was based on a list of 70 essential controls, and TI Safe had to prove that it has defined processes for each of them. In addition to proving that each process works, TI Safe also had to present evidence of the validation cycle used to prove that the processes of its methodology work.
The TÜV SÜD Audit analyzes the maturity of each process using a scale from 0 to 5. In this analysis, it is essential to obtain at least a score of 2 to be able to validate the item for certification. TI Safe worked for two years on the adaptation and review of all existing processes and also on the definition of new processes to obtain the necessary grades for the approval of all controls.
What are the next steps?
After receiving the IEC 62443-2-4 certification, TI Safe joins a select group of companies that hold it, becoming the first company in the Americas and the Southern Hemisphere to have this degree.
“With this certification, TI Safe becomes the only Brazilian company with an industrial cybersecurity methodology 100% audited and endorsed by the main global certification body, the German TÜV SÜD. The certification guarantees the quality of our services and the tranquility of our customers in knowing that they are working with an internationally recognized and certified company”, says the CTO and founder of TI Safe, Thiago Branquinho.
